NJ Paid Sick Leave Act
with Wayne Pinkstone, Esq.
NJ became the 10th state to pass a paid sick leave law. The law becomes effective on October 29, 2018. Every employer is covered by the law. Employees earn 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked. What does this mean to you?
- What are the specifics of this law? How is paid sick leave earned? How does the earned sick leave get used and for what reasons?
- Are there any exceptions to the law?
- Is an employer required to payout or carry over unused paid sick leave?
- What do you need to do to prepare for the implementation of the law?
